The Core Conflict (TCC) was a real-time strategy war-game on the AEN. It was designed by Stemic.

TCC is still remembered very fondly by AMZers who were around and participated in it.

About Stemic Edit

Main article: Stemic

Jaron Sanders, or Stemic, was from the Netherlands. Much like Ken, he created The Core Conflict when he was a teenager.

About the Game Edit

The Core Conflict had a separate registration from AMZ, however, in order to make an account with TCC, you had to have an account with AEN/AMZ. There were TCC forums through AEN, and separate ones within the game. The AEN forums were virtually dead whilst the in-game forums flourished. TCC, like its virtual pet counterpart, had an IRC channel located on WorldIRCNet.

TCC was often talked about on AMZ. It inspired a t-shirt item and continued to be linked on the site until it's fall.

TCCr1 and r2 Edit

The first two rounds of The Core Conflict were quite similar. Both had a few different types of units. You could send your units to attack another person's territory. Results were instantaneous. The game was not very detailed or complex, but, nevertheless, was a lot of fun. The first and largest alliance in TCC was the Majestic Alliance. It was created by Stephen Epple (Sepple on the site).

There was a mistake, not a glitch or a bug, just an accidental oversight, in the first round that allowed you to sell one type of unit produced in a day by the barracks to the computer for more money than it cost to build a new barracks. A number of users got wind of this mistake and took advantage of it. This led to round 1 ending and round 2 beginning. There was also one other reset in TCC, most likely in round 1.

TCCr3 Edit

Stemic took down round 2 and was working on coding round 3. It was going to be a much more advanced and graphical version of TCC. Stemic abandoned TCC when it began to interfere with his school work and no longer it enjoyable to work on.
